Expanded HTS and DVB-S2X Wideband Product Portfolio

Article

With the number of HTSs continuing to grow, bringing benefits such as lower costs and greater reliability, service providers and operators are looking to take advantage of this with reliable, cost-effective and performant technology.

To allow customers to deliver cost-effective solutions and benefit from the efficiencies and throughputs enabled by HTS, Newtec has launched a range of new DVB-S2X wideband products for use in High Throughput Satellite (HTS) and global networks (read here our press release).

As part of the Newtec Dialog® multiservice platform, the wideband DVB-S2X and scalable Newtec Dialog® XIF Hubs provide high throughput, high density and carrier grade solutions. Each hub model offers flexibility and modularity, facilitating the growth of networks and addition of services by allowing customers to start with an initial investment and then pay-as-they-grow.

The launch of the Newtec MDM2210 and MDM3310 also completes Newtec’s DVB-S2X wideband modem portfolio, joining the MDM5000 Satellite Modem. These high performance and easy-to-use modems are beneficial to end-customers in vertical markets such as consumer, enterprise, cellular backhaul, government and mobility. Thanks to the wideband DVB-S2X, customers can now fully benefit from the unprecedented efficiencies and throughputs enabled by HTS spot beam satellites.

Delivering throughputs of over 100 Mbps, the Newtec MDM2210 IP Satellite Modem can be fitted with an optional embedded Wi-Fi, addressing the needs of future consumer and SME broadband end-users. The MDM2210 also supports up to 500 Mbaud DVB-S2X, getting the most bandwidth capacity out of any HTS satellite. It is offered with cost-effective Ku and Ka outdoor units and the (new) Point&Play® smartphone app for high accuracy pointing and easy installation, with no need for additional tools during the installation and terminal commissioning flow.

The Benefits of Multiservice

Geared towards the future of multiservice, Newtec Dialog XIF hubs and DVB-S2X wideband modems also allows customers to combine appropriate modems with efficient return technologies to address a wide range of applications. The unique and dynamic Mx-DMA® technology is also featured on the multiservice platform, combining the best of SCPC and MF-TDMA and supporting a return rate of up to 75 Mpbs for a single terminal.

“For operators addressing their customer’s needs of today and tomorrow, a strong multiservice offering is their secret weapon. The Newtec Dialog® XIF hubs and DVB-S2X wideband modems enable our customers to address a wide range of applications and verticals to monetize their satellite capacity in the best possible way.
