Newtec to support new Professional European Sattellite Alliance

Round table discussions with satellite professional organizations in Europe has shown that the same needs exist.

Therefore a new alliance has been set up to unite multiple regional organizations in order to work together on an European level.

The first meeting is set to be held during IBC.

EuroSatProf

EuroSatProf aims to unite satellite communication professional from all over Europe.
The new group will meet at smaller regional events as well as larger international events, like IBC in Amsterdam, which attract large numbers of satcom professionals.

What are the Goals?
  1. Promote all aspects of the satellite industry across Europe with the endorsement of the major players in the industry
  2. Stimulate the continued professional development of satellite professionals in all aspects of the European satellite industry through educational and networking initiatives
  3. Actively seek to promote and encourage the entry of young professionals into the European satellite industry
  4. Organize and support events in Europe to promote the distribution of knowledge of new technologies and practices within the satellite industry
  5. Create an alliance of satellite professional groups and associations within the European arena
Organisation and Membership


There will be a board of volunteer satellite professionals which will execute all tasks.
Individual membership will be free with full self-service via the internet, while a paid option will be offered to those wanting access to discount for events and activities, for example EUSATCOM.

Corporate membership is yet to be defined.

The organisation is going to be funded by industry sponsors along with the membership fees.

SSPI, the Society of Satellite Professionals International is welcoming and and supporting this initiative, as both organizations have the same goals.


First Official Event

The first official event is the EUSATCOM Innovation Awards at the EYE film museum, Amsterdam on September 16, during IBC.

This will be the launch event as well as a fundraiser for the establishment of a professional back office.
