Function description:

In our combined team of software and hardware developers, you will be working on the design, specification, implementation, testing and bug fixing of embedded software modules/components in the Newtec Satellite products and communication systems.

In this challenging role:

• you will deliver high quality software taking into account testability and maintainability
• are able to understand high level architecture documents
• will produce architecture and design documents
• are responsible for the top level design of some components
• are responsible for the detailed design, implementation and testing of some components
• produce and execute unit and integration tests
• debug problems and resolve root causes
• document code, solutions and test cases

We are recruiting for this job:

A punctual flexible and openminded team player eager to learn about our hi-tech products and acquire new technical skills. You hold a Master's Degree in Engineering (Computer Sciences or Telecommunication) with preferably some (0 to 3 years) experience and are fluent in English; French and/or Dutch is an asset.

Competences:

• Good knowledge of C/C++
• Knowledge of software development and understanding of software-hardware interactions
• PC platform knowledge (x86 Architecture)
• State of the art development methodologies
• Object oriented programming
• Sound knowledge of LINUX operating systems
  • General architecture
  • Network technologies, protocols, security
  • File systems, storage & databases
  • Kernel, drivers & applications
• One or multiple of the following is considered a plus:
  • Experience in embedded software development
  • Experiencewith agile development methodologies
  • Knowledge of telecommunication, concepts and/or network protocols
  • Scripting languages (Perl, Python, Bash...)
