Purpose of the Job
Newtec is looking for an embedded software engineer. The candidate will work as a team player in the design, specification, implementation, testing and bug fixing of the end-user modem and some of the central HUB components in the Newtec internet access over Satellite product line (Sat3Play).

Main Responsibilities
•    Translate the defined architecture in a detailed design, implement and test of the components
•    Produce and execute unit and integration tests
•    Debug problems and resolve root cause
•    Document code, solutions and test cases
•    Take up ownership of a specific system component

Expected Results
•    Work as a team player in a software development team environment
•    Deliver high quality, testable and maintainable software

Experience/Education Required
•    Master’s degree in Engineering (Computer Sciences of Telecommunication) with minimal 5 years of relevant experience
•    Common software design practices: modular/OO(Object Oriented) programming, reusability, unit tests, continuous integration, UML, code refactoring
•    Knowledge and experience in C and C++ development
•    Experience in embedded Linux development
•    Experienced in writing efficient code (impacting scalability, timing constraints)
•    Knowledge of IP and related protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, etc)
•    Telecom-Wireless RF experience is an advantage
•    Familiar with general telecommunication concepts
•    Strong personal initiative to define and carry out your own work based on higher-level objectives. High initiative. Able to integrate into the device software team
•    Commitment and self-motivation
•    Written and spoken English
