IP SYSTEMS PROJECT ENGINEER CUSTOMER SOLUTIONS
Function description
As a member of the Customer Solutions team, the IP Systems Project engineer will be responsible for delivering IP based solutions and integration into the customer's IP and RF architecture. He/she will efficiently combine technical project management with solution delivery activities (technical design and implementation, testing, installation and acceptance).
Technical Project Management:
In this role, you will:
- create, execute and follow-up the project implementation plan in close collaboration with all parties involved
- give assistance to the pre-sale phase by contributing to or reviewing tenders and participating to customer pre-sales visits
Solution design based on Newtec and 3rd party products
This includes:
- defining and documenting IP network diagrams, link budgets, RF and IP configuration data and interfacing with the network management system
- defining project purchasing needs in collaboration with the Newtec procurement department for purchasing and/or production of required products
- building and testing the system in factory and, if applicable, prepare/execute factory acceptance tests witnessed by the customer
- installing, configuring and acceptance of the solution at the customer site. This includes integration into the customer's IP network testing/optimizing the RF link performance and integration with the network management system.
- creating customer documentation and provide training to customers on how to operate the installed solution
- provide technical support to the customer after system acceptance in close coordination with the Newtec Customer Support organization.

A punctual, flexible and openminded teamplayer eager to learn about our hi-tech products and acquire new technical skills. You possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and are able to perform well under stress, whilst maintaining good time and priority management. You are willing to do any occasional travelling.
You hold a Bachelor or a Master Degree in Engineering (Computer Sciences or Telecommunication) with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in Satellite telecommunications and IP and interested in combining project management with solution implementation. You can demonstrate practical experience regarding the installation and configuration of IP devices (e.g. routers, bridges and switches) for major IP vendors such as CISCO and Juniper. Cisco CCNA certification is a plus.
