CUSTOMER SUPPORT ENGINEER

For our office in Singapore, we are now looking to recruit a hands-on CUSTOMER SUPPORT ENGINEER

Function description

As a member of our worldwide support team you will provide both pre- and post-sales technical support services in the Asia Pacific (AP) region. Next to becoming an excellent satellite communications professional, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the operational excellence of the Regional Support Centre as well as to the regional sales growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to our customers and guarantee a successful customer experience;
  • Handle customer technical inquiries and complaints. Escalate complex problems when required, whilst providing the necessary feedback to the customer at regular intervals;
  • Deliver expert technical assistance and consultancy to customers and sales team during both the pre- and post-sales phase;
  • Create and give product trainings, presentations and demo’s;
  •  Take responsibility for local hardware repair activities;
  • Organize regional support activities, fully synchronized with local sales team and support team at our headquarters (Belgium);
  • Become an integral part of our Global Customer Support team, enabling world-wide support service according to the follow-the-sun principle.
  • Report to the Regional Support Center Manager.

 We are recruiting for this job

  •  Master or Bachelor Degree in Engineering with at least 3 years of relevant experience in a technical support position;
  • Proficient in English; Asian (Chinese) languages are considered an advantage.
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, confident whilst dealing with customers.
  • Good commercial awareness;
  • Highly organized individual, self-motivated and able to work independently;
  • Hands-on attitude combined with potential to take up leadership role in the longer term;
  • Strong sense of responsibility, team spirit and initiative;
  • Practical/working knowledge in any of the following areas is an advantage:
  • Computer systems, network systems and broadband access (TCP/IP, VoIP, VPN, QoS,..);
  • Broadcasting and contribution of radio and TV content (DTH, DVB, DSNG, MPEG,…);
  • Satellite communication, ground stations, RF, VSAT networks, …
  • Willing to travel.
