Topic: Technological Solutions to Solve the SCPC vs. MF-TDMA Debate

Most engineers know that the efficiency of a forward link is as important as the efficiency of the return path from a remote site back to the hub. In dealing with return link efficiency, a large part of the market is caught with the SCPC versus MF-TDMA dilemma, or, choosing high-efficiency with dedicated capacity per site, or lower efficiency with on-demand bandwidth allocation and sharing the bandwidth across multiple sites. Does the end-user really care about the type of return technology behind the satellite service? Or, does the end-user only care that the service provides the expected user experience? This session explores new technology that could put the SCPC vs. MF-TDMA debate to rest for good.
