Course description:

This course is designed to provide an explanation of IP terminology and IP network design.

Course overview:              

The following subjects will be covered:


1. IP Essentials:

  • Layer 2: Ethernet
    • Layer 2: Bridging
    • Layer 2: ARP
    • Layer 2:VLAN
  • Layer 3: IP Routing
  • Layer 3: IP addressing
  • Layer 3: Subnets
    • Layer 3: IP Routing
    • Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol

2. IP network design:

  • Design of IP trunking networks
  • Best practice in operating trunking network
  • Best practice for operating in service provider environment
  • L2,L3 bridging and routing versus application

Prerequisites:

Trainees should have a basic knowledge of the DVB, DVB interfaces, link budget basics, TCP/IP.

Course medium:

 

  • Classroom training is provided and comprises in depth theoretical sessions.
  • Due consideration is given to ensure that interaction between the instructor and trainees forms an integral part of the training session. Immediate feedback and support is given.
  • Step-by-step hands on instructions which consist of practical examples and include a live-demonstration of useful commands or exercises.

Course provision:

  • Handout binders which include all course material as a hard copy will be provided. Ballpoints and note blocks are also provided.
  • Refreshments are included.
