New Company Newsletter September 2013

Newsletter Friday 20 September 2013

Read in our September 2013 issue about: S2 Extensions and Carrier ID for Your Network, VSAT and Broadcast from Around the World, New Pan European Satellite Alliance and of course the Worlds First Live 4K Broadcast

Dear Business Partners,

Welcome to this very special edition of Newtec News, coming out in September 2013, around IBC show in Amsterdam. And it is special! Special because of its world first to announce, along with updates on the latest projects from our partners, our products and our worldwide team. Together we aim to lead the industry into a new era of standardized and even faster satellite communication.

First Ever Live UHDTV 4K Transmission

In a world first at IBC 2013 Newtec has partnered with a number of worldclass
communications companies to transmit the first ever live sports game in 4K straight to the exhibition floor. This proves the transmission chain is ready and able as soon as demand is there. Inside of this newsletter we'll also explore when and if UHDTV will be the future.

Over the last two years we worked hard to identify updates to the DVB-S2 standard. We would like to drive the industry forward together to achieve the best for all parties and are very pleased to see this coming to fruition now with the S2 Extensions due for release very soon. In the meantime, we have released our own candidate technologies which are available in our modulators, modems and hubs.

Interference Mitigation

We are also targeting interference and have tips inside this newsletter on how to prepare for upcoming key dates for the implementation of Carrier ID from the World Broadcasting Union. Keep a look out at IBC for our latest industry survey findings on interference, not just for broadcast but also VSAT.

VSAT and Broadcast Projects from Around the World

Also inside this edition - get the lowdown on our new projects with Arqiva, Sematron, Telesat, Intelsat, SES, Speedcast, Bentley Walker and others as well as the latest on a new professional satellite group established in Europe called EuroSatPro. We have also looked at some of our more interesting deployments of VSAT from around the world in both, Ka and Ku-band.
